This morning's sunrise is really a welcome sight; with generally clear skies, easterly breeze, and lots of sun - we may get a good dry-out day for a change.

Wishing you and us lots of blue skies!

With all the heavy rain of the past week, the normally dry creek bed is roaring every day. The saturation point of the hills is such that only a little sprinkle of rain increases the rush of water in the creek.

Of course the rain has produced some beauty and growth. With all this moisture late in the year, I predict an almost spring-like growth of flowers and such.

Yesterday the training schooner "WestWard" looked very nice anchored in the bay;

This close-up shows the crew on the quarter-deck getting the days orders;

Last night Culebra received another 2 inches of rain in two hours, more run-off and not much dry-out time;

This morning we enjoyed the view of the "WestWard" departing the harbour;

Yesterday and last night we had some showers, nothing heavy, but enough to feed the new batch of mosquitoes and keep everything damp;

On the tree in front of our porch a Wrenita pair (Banana Quit) are busy building a nest. In this photo if you look close you will see the outline of the male bird inside the fragile structure. Remember to click on the photo to see the enlarged image.

Now we will have more little beggars at the sugar feeder in back of the house.

After the rain subsided yesterday, we had a bit of rest in the afternoon and enjoyed this view of a schooner (Spirit of Mass?) arriving through the harbour entrance;

We were fortunate that Culebra did not receive anymore rainfall yesterday. Today will be a clean-up day to get rid of the mud and stones washed down from the hills.
